LÖM RESERVE is a luxury handbag brand that designs and crafts collections using natural hand woven fiber, responsibly sourced leather and natural dyes. Each bag is hand sewn in the United States.
Founder Jerusha Fox hand weaves natural fibers on Blondie, the Antique Barn Loom crafted in 1730, which she incorporates into every collection from handbags to clutches, small leather goods, soft accessories and hats.
Fibers are sourced from small batch spinners and legacy mills throughout the Americas. LÖM RESERVE also sources rare and luxurious fibers that can only be found among special herds in far away places. Other materials from leather to metal are selected from artisans across our great land who are proud to be a part of the Made in America Luxury Movement.
THE LÖM STUDIO
Is inspired by generations of women who were weavers, spinners, lovers and mothers. In Eastern European Folklore and Pagan Rites weavers and spinners are portrayed as goddesses. The shape of the goddess was woven and embroidered to symbolize all of the creative forces within women. The goddess was Rusalka, Baba Yaga, Mother Earth, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother. As guardian of all - she ruled the earth, water and plants. She regulated the moon, fertility and weather. The LÖM RESERVE goddess icon is a symbol that represents the ancient wisdom within all of us.
The LÖM RESERVE Collection reflects the beauty and creativity of our natural world. LÖM women are strong leaders who nurture their inner wisdom and inspire beauty that will be sustainable for many generations to come.
Jerusha Fox, designer and weaver was born in the Mohave Desert to traveling musicians. Born of a long line of ancestral Weavers and Spinners; she carries a 100-year-old towel woven by an ancestor in Eastern Europe as a kind of talisman.
One of eleven, the weaver grew up exploring the Western United States from Arizona to Wyoming and every place in-between. Some years were fanciful, painting the desert while others were beautiful struggle-fighting fires on the Wind River Reservation. The Rocky Mountains, First People and Ancient Artifacts solidified a passionate interest in textiles.
Jerusha long studied Weavers and Spinners in Eastern European Pagan Rites and Folklore Traditions; where-in Weavers and Spinners were portrayed as Goddesses. LÖM RESERVE was born of a young designer's passion to honor tradition and to be a leader in The Made in America Sustainable Luxury Movement.
ETHICAL & SUSTAINABLE AMERICAN LUXURY:
Hand weaving is an artistry that has permeated diverse groups of people around the world for thousands of years. To weave is to have purpose and connection to the people who came before us. These ancient skills were developed and passed down out of necessity, innovation and self-expression. Ancient people understood that the making of cloth was directly tied to our land and resources. LÖM RESERVE is committed to preserving this wisdom by applying traditional weaving techniques and by practicing sustainability. LÖM RESERVE believes that sustainability is only attainable if we behave as guardians of Earth. At LÖM RESERVE, guardianship is practiced by supporting local farmers, protecting livestock, planting seeds, harvesting in a responsible way, using natural dye vats, recycling and partnering with trusted artisans. We are motivated by our promise to bring luxury that is made of our land and by our people. LÖM RESERVE is American Made Sustainable Luxury.
A Parcel of land in Vermont where plants are grown for dye and animals are raised for fiber to ensure that future LÖM RESERVE Collections are made of materials that are American grown and sustainable.
Jerusha travels to become familiar with different weaving traditions. Textiles and stories are gathered to inspire collections. These textiles are a reservoir of peoples, history and culture.
Select bags from each LÖM RESERVE Collection are placed in the reserve to be released at a later time. This preserves the legacy of the brand for future generations and will maintain a history of design inspired by place and time.
